Utah's high desert landscapes are a dream for hikers, with sheer sandstone cliffs, towering canyon walls and sculpted hoodoos making a dramatic backdrop for exploration. Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks are two of the state's most iconic hiking destinations, and just beyond them lies the rugged beauty of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.

In Zion National Park, wade the Virgin River into the Narrows, where thousand-foot walls rise from the river. Climb the 21 switchbacks of Walter's Wiggles to Scout Lookout for sweeping views over Zion Canyon, then cool off at the Emerald Pools. At Bryce Canyon, look out from Bryce Point over thousands of brightly colored hoodoos banded in red, orange and white. Then descend into the maze on the Peekaboo Loop Trail, past the Wall of Windows and Peekaboo Arch, and walk the narrow corridors of Wall Street.

In Grand Staircase-Escalante, follow a river canyon to Lower Calf Creek Falls, a 126-foot waterfall, and spot ancient Fremont pictographs and granaries along the way. Expert guides handle the logistics, so you can focus fully on the hiking and on the geologic story carved into these canyons over millions of years.
